Snapping Turtles Hatch at Eastman Conservation Area

30 baby snapping turtles emerged from their underground nest near Newman Eastman Conservation Area, Sept. 13, 2017 The mother turtle does not stay to watch her babies emerge, nor does she help them to survive. Luckily, the babies have great instincts. These little turtles know how to find their way to the nearest pond, but Science Center staff helped them on their way.
